  • How Much Does An Above Ground Pool Actually Cost?

    Build your real pool budget

The kit price is the number everyone quotes. Answer a few questions about your yard and see what the whole project actually comes to.

    1 · The pool
From the product page for the package you're looking at.
    2 · Your yard
Delivered price from a local landscape supply. Ask about their minimum delivery charge.
    3 · Water & power
From your water bill. Ask whether they credit the sewer charge on pool fills.
Bonding is a code requirement, not an upgrade. Get a licensed electrician's quote.

    Where the money goes

Every line below is part of the project whether you budget for it or not. Ranges are wide because prices genuinely vary by region — the numbers tighten fast once you make a few local phone calls.

    Line item Estimate

These are ballpark figures, not a quote. Base material, electrical work, permits and water rates all swing a long way by region, which is why each line is a range rather than a number. Five phone calls — a landscape supply yard, a licensed electrician, your water utility, your building department, and us — will turn this estimate into a real budget, and all five are free.

Base material quantities come straight from the manufacturer's assembly chart for round pools, which specifies sand and stone dust separately. Oval figures are estimated from the same chart.0045–0.006 tons per square foot, which lands in the half-ton to two-and-a-half-ton range these kits call for. Water volume assumes 4 ft of water in a 52" wall and 3.5 ft in a 48" wall. Estimates only. Want help sizing the base material or working out what a specific kit needs? Get in touch.
