The eco-conscious, compact heating solution for modern backyard pools and spas. The Raypak P-R207AL-EN-C delivers a reliable 206,000 BTU output using an advanced digital electronic ignition system and a specially engineered combustion chamber. This "Low NOx" model is specifically designed to meet strict state and local air quality regulations—including those in California and Texas—by significantly reducing harmful nitrogen oxide emissions.

Combining environmental responsibility with legendary mechanical reliability, this natural gas heater provides efficient heat-up times for smaller residential pools, above-ground setups, and standalone spas. Equipped with a standard copper heat exchanger, it delivers consistent, everyday performance while keeping your backyard's carbon footprint to a minimum.

Ultra-Low NOx Emissions: Built with a forced-draft combustion system, this heater burns natural gas much cleaner than standard atmospheric models. It is fully certified to meet the strictest environmental codes across the United States, making it legally compliant for installation in highly regulated areas.

Microprocessor-Controlled Thermostat: The intuitive digital display allows you to set your pool and spa temperatures independently to within one degree. The system also features constant self-diagnostics to alert you to any operational issues, making troubleshooting fast and simple.

Reliable Electronic Ignition: Features a robust spark-to-pilot ignition system that only lights when there is a call for heat. This eliminates the gas waste of a standing pilot light and ensures the heater remains highly efficient and functional even in high-wind conditions.

Standard Copper Heat Exchanger: Built with high-quality integral copper fin tubes, this heat exchanger provides maximum heat transfer and an impressive 82% thermal efficiency. The single-piece polymer header design ensures smooth water flow and minimizes the risk of internal leaks.

PolyFlo Integrated Bypass: Raypak’s patented bypass design balances the water flow through the heat exchanger automatically. This prevents condensation and scale buildup, protecting the heater's internal components from premature wear.

ProTek Shield Technology: Includes a specialized, replaceable module designed to protect the heat exchanger from the damaging effects of galvanic corrosion (electrolysis), providing a critical layer of defense for the unit's most vital parts.

Non-Corrosive Cabinet Construction: The heater is housed in a polyester-coated, galvanized steel cabinet built to resist rust and UV fading. Its wind-resistant design ensures the internal components stay protected even in exposed or coastal outdoor environments.

Notes

Professional Setup Required: To ensure safety and validate the manufacturer’s warranty, this natural gas heater must be installed by a licensed HVAC or pool professional. Because it is a Low NOx unit, it relies on a built-in blower motor for forced-draft combustion, requiring precise electrical and gas line connections. Proper venting and clearance are critical for safe and efficient operation.

Raypak Digital Heater Highlights

Heat Exchanger

Our Digital Gas Pool and Spa Heater includes various application options based on fin tube materials including: copper and cupronickel, both available as ASME1.

Digital Controls

Equipped with an intelligent control system that can easily be tied into an existing remote system, our heater also features a microprocessor-controlled thermostat for setting the perfect temperature for your pool or spa.

Flexible Installation

Whether upgrading your existing system or adding a new pool or spa to your home, the Raypak Digital Gas Pool and Spa Heater offers you flexible installation solutions.

Bonus: The self-adjusting burner compensates for gas pressure fluctuations, ensuring that the heater will always burn clean and safe.

What will it cost to heat your pool?

Fuel and electricity prices vary a lot by region, so put in your own rate from your last bill and get a number that's actually yours.

1 · Your pool
Water now 68°F
Temperature you want 84°F

You need to raise the water 16 degrees

2 · Your heater & rate
Set at the factory — you buy the version matching the fuel you have.
Figured at 82% efficiency, the rating on Raypak Digital heaters.
Use the all-in rate from your gas bill, including delivery charges.

And what about month to month?

Warming the pool up is a one-off. Most of what you'll actually spend is holding that temperature — replacing the heat your pool loses to the air, day and night.

Average outdoor temperature 65°F

Day and night averaged together, for the month you're picturing.

Per month — no cover

$0.00

Keeping a solar cover on saves roughly $0.00 a month here — most of a heated pool's heat leaves by evaporation off an open surface, so a cover is the cheapest thing you can do to bring this figure down.

Warm-up figures are the physics with no heat loss. Your pool loses heat to evaporation, wind and cool air the whole time the heater runs, so those numbers are a floor, not a forecast. The real-world line adds a typical 25–50%.

Monthly figures are an estimate, and a rough one. They assume you hold your target around the clock for 30 days. Real heat loss swings a long way with wind, humidity and how much sun your pool gets — an exposed, windy yard can run well above these numbers and a sheltered sunny one below. Treat them as a ballpark for comparing options, not a quote.

Warm-up uses gallons × 8.34 × degrees of rise. Monthly uses an estimated heat loss across your pool's surface area against the temperature difference with the air, at 82% thermal efficiency for gas. Pool presets assume 4 ft of water in a 52" wall and 3.5 ft in a 48" wall. Estimates only. Not sure of your pool volume or which heater fits? Get in touch.
